No marine life this time, but some spectacular wildlife photography, this time from the Guardian’s website.
Scott Linstead uses fast shutter speeds and special flash guns to capture some fantastic images of wildlife in flight, or capturing prey, including this bat over water.

The Guardian has a series of winning shots from the British Society for Underwater Photographers 2010 competition. The winner in the British and Irish category is the Black-faced blenny shown above. It was taken under Swanage pier in Dorset by Arthur Kingdon.

Another good BBC video. This time of gannets feeding, from both above and below the surface. Go and watch it at the BBC website. It’s a leading contender in BBC2′s wildlife programme “Nature’s Top 40″.

That Natural History Museum’s website has the winners and commended entries from the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2008 competition, and there are some great photos there. The photograph above was the winner in the Underwater Category is entitled First Encounter, and was taken of a southern right whale by Brian Skerry off the Auckland Islands in New Zealand.
