“How our great oceans breathe” – RGS Lecture

Thanks to Andy Niven for sending this over. The Royal Geographical Society – Hong Kong are presenting a lecture entitled “How our great oceans breathe” on Thursday 23 October at the Football Club. There’s a drinks reception at 6:30pm and the lecture follows at 7:30pm.

The lecturer is Dr. David Hydes from the UK’s National Oceanography Centre, Southampton (NOCS). He will be starting from the premise that global warming is a problem, and then describes the role that the various oceans have in the earth’s breathing cycle.

Members of the RGS and their guests are welcome to attend this lecture, which is HK$100 for Members and HK$150 for Members’ guests and others.

Unfortunately you won’t get much information out of the Royal Geographical Society Hong Kong’s website as the details are “to follow”. Since it’s Thursday we’re talking about, one hopes they follow fairly quickly. Anyway if you’ve nothing to do on Thursday, pop along to the Football Club and hear what Dr. Hydes has to say.
